Yesterday it started to sleet during my children snowboarding lessons. They didnt mind and kept right on snowboarding. But I heard a great deal of other parents saying things like, ”
what the heck? why isnt this snow? its cold enough to be snow!” As an amateur meteorologist I knew the answer was that while the temperature at ground level was cold enough for snow, the environment above us wasnt cold sufficient to create snow. As a moms and dad who didnt want to be “that man” in the group, I just drank my coffee with the other parents standing in the sleet.
