If You Care About Copyright, Stop Using Blog Lovin’

As very long time followers of my blog site and Twitter account know, copyright is a subject that I am passionate about. Thats largely due to the quantity of sites that take my work on a daily basis. A few of them, like the popular Bloglovin service, claim that theyre not doing anything wrong and are actually helping bloggers get more direct exposure. Both of those claims are incorrect..

Bloglovin isnt helping bloggers at all. By republishing whole short articles without permission theyre breaching the initial authors copyright. Furthermore, by republishing whole posts they are getting rid of any incentive to visit the real source of the article which negates Bloglovins claim that theyre helping blog writers get more direct exposure..
Google concurs with me on this as evidenced by the reality that each time I submit a DMCA takedown notice with Google they get rid of the offending Bloglovin URL from their index..
I made a brief, ranting video about this Bloglovin concern. You can see it here if you like. In either case, stop using Bloglovin to check out post and instead use a service like Feedly which does things best or just visit your favorite blog sites straight..
