To recognize which version of Google Sites youre using simply go into sites.google.com into your web browsers address bar then search in the bottom-left corner of the screen. If the bottom-left corner of the screen has a “back to Classic Sites” button then youre using the existing version of Google Sites. Heres a little video demonstration of those steps..
