A Fun and Educational Use of Chrome’s Inspect Tool

In this weeks.
Practical Ed Tech Newsletter I shared a few of my favorite “techy” tricks to impress your students and associates. Among those tricks is to use the inspect tool in Chrome to view the code behind any website and then modify it to change what appears on the page on your computer system..

The inspect tool in Chrome lets you see the code behind any web page and change that code to display anything that you want in place of the original text and images. Watch this short video to see how it works.

You can also use the examine tool to modify a short article on the web to make it a satire story. Print the page and give it to your students to attempt to determine the satire components of the story.

Applications for Education.
Chromes check tool offers an excellent way for trainees to see how the code of a web page works. I frequently had my ninth grade coding students do that in 2015.
