You may have observed that my face is appearing in more of the cover images for my blog posts and in more of the cover images for my videos. The reason is that in my on-going fight against sites that republish my material without authorization it is much easier for me to show evidence of ownership and creativity when my face is in the cover image.

Its fairly simple to write a script that scrapes all of the content from an RSS feed and imports it into a different site. Thats a little more difficult to stop so my recourse is to file DMCA takedown notifications with Google to get them to get rid of the upseting material from their outcomes pages.
Filing DMCA takedown notices is time-consuming and even when filed effectively some hosting business still require much more evidence of original work and ownership. Having the ability to state, “hey, thats my photo of myself using my favorite flannel shirt” is a lot simpler and faster than writing a description of the creativity of my blog post. Still, some dubious hosting business (typically located outside of the United States) wont do a darn thing to honor my demand. In those cases at least theres a simple method for visitors of the angering site to realize that what theyre reading was taken from FreeTech4Teachers.com.
