What’s Onomatopoeia Mean? – Another Question from My Daughters

Every night my children (ages 4 and 5) ask us all kinds of intriguing questions. Some of them are about things that I havent thought about in a long time. Some of them arent simple to answer in a method that they can understand.

On an associated note, Next Vista for Learning hosts a terrific video description of onomatopoeia. The video was produced by a high school trainee for among Next Vistas many student video production contests.

After dinner and my somewhat unsuccessful description of onomatopoeia, I turned to YouTube to try to discover a video that may help my children better understand what onomatopoeia is. Thats where I found this brief and charming video about onomatopoeia. Ill caution you, the song is kind of catchy (if youre a five-year-old)..
