UP Board changes Class 9 exam pattern; 30% theory questions to be asked in MCQ format

Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has changed the test pattern of class 9 final exams 2021-22. According to the new pattern, 30 percent of the theory concerns (20 questions out of 70) will be asked in Multiple-choice concerns (MCQ) format which needs to be answered on the OMR sheet. The board has likewise released a sample OMR sheet for referral. Candidates can inspect the notification on the official website- upmsp.edu.in.

The test pattern will be followed in both half-yearly in addition to annual examinations for class 9. The half-yearly theory exams will be of 70 marks (20 MCQs +50 descriptive concerns). Likewise, the annual test will likewise be performed in the same pattern. An overall of 30 marks will be allocated to the internal assessment. The final outcome will be declared based upon the overall marks secured out of 170 (70 +70 +30).

As per the notice, the practicals for half annual assessment will be carried out in the 2nd week of November whereas the theory examinations will begin in the third week of November..

The other 70 per cent (50 questions) will need to be responded to in the descriptive format. These will likewise consist of concerns based upon Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Different answer sheets will be offered to the trainees to address the detailed questions.
