Thinking back to my middle school typing class (done on electrical typewriters, not computer systems) I remember wondering why the keyboard wasnt arranged in alphabetical order. I knew that the answer was related to the frequency of use of particular letters and likewise the early restrictions of typewriter keyboard configurations.
