STEM is the Answer

How can we:

  • Maintain powerful and reliable collaboration between countries?
  • Eradicate poverty?
  • Reduce effects of greenhouse gases?
  • Build safe ways for humans to explore space?

These challenges are indicative of an intricate world requiring a variety of skills to maintain and evolve progress and learning. Problem solving, analysis, and iteration are all needed to solve problems and shape our future.

STEM – the infusion of Science, technology, engineering, and Math skills – is the perfect framework to help our world’s evolution by providing a structure to dig deep, understand, and solve the world’s toughest challenges. While the term “STEM” is an acronym, you may also choose to think of it as the stem of a flower- the inner core of support that supports the beauty of our accomplishments.

Our new course, 5221: The Future is STEM, is our update for this important topic, and includes the current thinking about implementing STEM. Explore engineering design and teach students how to solve problems creatively across content areas. Understand why STEM identity matters, and develop strategies to improve access to STEM for all students. Empower students to tackle real-world problems with project-based and student-centered instructional practice. Upon completion of the course, you’ll have ready to go lessons and well-rounded knowledge about the importance of STEM now, and in the future.

Give it a look! Our future needs our students in STEM!
