Stanley Black & Decker and Discovery Education Announce 2021 Making for Good Challenge Winners

Silver Spring, Md. (Thursday, April 29, 2021)– Today, 3 trainees across the United States are recognized for ingenious solutions to environmental and social issues as winners of the Stanley Black & & Decker and Discovery Education 2021 Producing Excellent Obstacle. Working individually or in teams of 2-4, high school students nationwide produced 60-90 second videos detailing ingenious services to environmental or social issues.

The yearly challenge builds on a Stanley Black & & Decker and Discovery Education curriculum– Innovation Generation– firing up, engaging, and empowering students to become innovators through no-cost vibrant digital resources. Through real-world expeditions of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), Innovation Generation cultivates students partnership, issue fixing, and creativity.

The winning 2021 Making for Good Challenge groups and prizing are as follows:

First Prize: $15,000 and a Stanley Black & & Decker Prize Pack

Jiwoong P., a 12th grader from Westminster School in Simsbury, CT

Nehal S., a 9th grader from Coppell Independent School District in Coppell, TX.

Third Place: $5,000 and a Stanley Black & & Decker Prize Pack.
