Poetry 180Poetry 180 is a Library of Congress task that was produced when Billy Collins was the U.S. Poet Laureate. The function of the job is to supply high school teachers with poems for their students to check out or hear throughout the academic year. Collins selected the poems for Poetry 180 with high school trainees in mind. I didnt look at every poem in the list, however of dozen approximately that I took a look at, none would take more than a few minutes to check out in a class. Speaking of reading in class, Collins encourages teachers to check out the poems aloud or have students read the poems aloud. To that end, heres his suggestions on how to read a poem aloud.

Jamboard Magnetic Poetry.
On Google Jamboard you can develop a set of sticky notes with words on them. You could color code the sticky notes to make verbs one color, adjectives another color, and nouns a 3rd color. When youve made your word bank you can then divide the Jamboard and add directions for writing a poem with the words in the word bank. Share your Jamboard as an assignment in Google Classroom. When you share it in Google Classroom make certain that you pick the alternative of “make a copy for each trainee” so that trainees have their own copies to deal with without having to manually make copies for themselves..
