SESI Kids Win Big! SESI Crixas TEAM from Brazil Are CoderZ League Champions in the Global Virtual Coding & Robotics Competition

DERRY, N.H– Feb. 23, 2022– SESI, Brazils Social Service of Industry (SESI), had a vision: To equip the kids in their network of more than 400 schools in all 27 states with the technological skills, knowledge, and tools to become the leaders of tomorrow– the age of Market 4.0.

Between October 2021 and January 2022, over 50 teams from across Brazil participated in the CoderZ League, an international virtual robotics competition. Wisley João Pereira, Executive Director of SESI, explains how CoderZ helps SESI to advance its future vision: “When we presented the CoderZ platform and league, it was a really essential junction. CoderZ combines its curriculum theory and practice, so students can establish real services to genuine problems. CoderZ League played an especially significant role in encouraging trainees to say, “we will do this because the entire world is taking part, and we are being challenged to come up with real-life options.”

About CoderZ.

During the world finals, SESIs trainees contended virtually with groups from USA, Ghana, Singapore, and Hong Kong– before eventually winning the title of world champions for the CoderZ League Junior Division.

Erica Soares Tavares, instructor of the winning team, shares the effect made on her students: “It was a big surprise to get to the finals. Its like winning the World Cup, however for robotics! The feeling for the trainees is invaluable. Besides their individual skills and the technical skills, were also strengthening robotics in the school, robotics in SESI, in our country. We see that its working, were on the best course. And this is the enduring effect I see.”

In between October 2021 and January 2022, over 50 groups from throughout Brazil got involved in the CoderZ League, an international virtual robotics competitors. All groups interacted to fix obstacles and objectives, while the leading rivals advanced to the Brazilian playoffs. Team Takamassa Numuro, from SESI Crixás in Goiás (GO), advanced to the world champion which was broadcast live to audiences from all over the globe.

As part of the execution procedure, over 400 teachers were certified to teach the CoderZ curriculum to over 80,000 students in between the 10th and 4th grades.

Katia Aparecida Marangon Barbosa, Technological Education Manager in SESI, sees a direct correlation between SESI trainees CoderZ experience and the future task market needs: “The skills the students establish of team effort and harmonizing, each one with their own differences, but with the capability to interact– this is a differential. Its a required skill in the market.”.

This is the 2nd year that SESI is incorporating CoderZ in 27 DRs across the nation. As part of the implementation process, over 400 instructors were licensed to teach the CoderZ curriculum to over 80,000 trainees between the 4th and 10th grades. Following the memorable success of group Takamassa Numuro, numerous students are now prepared to complete in the 2022 season..
