reDesign, an academic design consultancy, is releasing an all-call for K-12 content discipline specialists from varied backgrounds and locations to join together this summertime to re-envision the “canon” of K-12 content.

The assembling experts for the K-12 Content Mapping effort is reDesigns initial step in its strong 5-Year Plan to co-create and support fair and inclusive learner-centered communities for youths and grownups that welcome every student. Established in 2006, reDesign partners with schools, districts, and states throughout the U.S., reimagining what mentor and knowing can be.

Content experts will be chosen across 25 discipline locations, and will assemble for a virtual Design Studio the week of June 27th to reimagine a 21st century K-12 Content Map that defines necessary topics and concepts, develops crucial consciousness, and fosters deep connections to community.Selectedparticipants will receive an honorarium of up to $2,000 for their contributions. This academic content effort marks a shift away from long lists of factual knowledge, and towards disciplinary concepts and cross-disciplinary proficiencies that are in-sync with how the brain discovers, and the rapidly moving opportunities of the adult world, while centering inclusion and antiracism in discipline material options.
