Read and Transcribe Walt Whitman’s Notebooks and Diaries

Applications for EducationThe LOCs Crowd project is a great opportunity for high school students and some intermediate school students to learn about Walt Whitman while contributing to a national project. All of the collections in Crowd do have timelines and some other resources that assist to provide context for the documents that are in requirement of transcription.
The Smithsonian has a comparable crowdsourcing job called Smithsonian Digital Volunteers.
