It’s That Time Again…

TED-Ed has two lessons that arent specifically about Daylight Saving Time but relate to the subject. The History of Keeping Time explains sundials, hourglasses, and the advancement of timezones. Second, How Did Trains Standardize Time in the United States? describes the function of railways in the development of the timezones used in the United States (and most of Canada) today.

Daylight Saving Time ends today for much of my pals in Europe and it ends next Sunday for those people in North American states and provinces that observe Daylight Saving Time. As somebody who gets up early and lives in a northern state, I welcome the modification as Ill see the sun an hour previously. And hopefully, my kids will benefit from the “extra” hour of time for sleeping next Saturday night.
