Sea Turtles 101

Earlier today when I was examining the weather forecast on
NOAA.gov I saw a banner revealing that
today is Sea Turtle Week. Prior to that I didnt understand that there is a Sea Turtle Week. None-the-less it reminded me of the time that I saw sea turtles nesting in Costa Rica and it prompted me to take a look at some resources for teaching and finding out about sea turtles. Heres what I found.

Google Arts and Culture Turtle Stories
Google Arts and Culture provides this collection of imagery and videos about 5 different kinds of sea turtles found off the coast of Brazil. The images is good but the collection is a little light on info.

Turtle Travel Tips
Turtle Travel Tips is a cute SciShow Kids video about how leatherback sea turtles navigate thousands of miles of ocean to go back to nesting websites.

Sea Turtles 101 is a video from National Geographics 101 series. As you may anticipate, the video covers the essentials of the life and evolution of sea turtles, the number and type of sea turtles, recreation of sea turtles, and the ecological obstacles dealing with sea turtles today. While not terribly appealing, the video is brief and informative.

7 Sea Turtle Facts
7 Sea Turtle Facts is an useful page released by NOAA. The page consists of a number of videos about sea turtle environment, life, and ecological challenges dealing with sea turtles.
