It’s Patriots’ Day! Resources for Learning About the Start of the American Revolution

For Red Sox Fans!This is generally the day that the Boston Marathon is held and the Red Sox play an early morning video game. That tradition has returned this year! For my fellow Red Sox fans heres a well-known clip from the 2007 Patriots Day video game.

Today is Patriots Day here in Maine, in Massachusetts, and in a handful of other states. Its a day to mark the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first fights of the American Revolutionary War. The Massachusetts Historical Society uses fourteen lesson strategies that are lined up to the theme of The Coming of the American Revolution. The lesson strategies consist of a mix of file analysis activities and seminar activities..

Mr. Betts has a YouTube channel on which he posts cartoons and tune parodies to teach U.S. History lessons. Heres one he did about the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

Images of the Revolutionary War is a compilation of images about the Revolutionary War. The images in the collection chronicle the stirrings of disobedience in the pre-revolution years, the war from both British and american point of views, and occasions following the Revolutionary War.

Producing Google Earth tours of Revolutionary War field of honor is an activity that I provided for lots of years with my U.S. History trainees. Students would produce multimedia placemarks for each battle in sequence. The placemarks consisted of information about the result and significance of each fight.
