I’m Feeling Lucky – A Google Earth Lesson

To get more information about utilizing Google Earth in your classroom, take an appearance at my Crash Course in Google Earth & & Maps for Social Studies.

From trips to video games to simple measuring tools, the web version of
Google Earth has a great deal of cool functions that can help students find out about the world. Among those neat functions is the “Im Feeling Lucky” button that is discovered on the left hand toolbar in Google Earth. Clicking that button will take trainees to a randomly-selected place on the planet..

On its own the “Im Feeling Lucky” button provides an excellent way for trainees to find brand-new places. That said, trainees find out more through the “Im Feeling Lucky” button if you provide them a little more direction than just “click the button and browse.” Thats why I produced a little question sheet to prompt students to do a little research study about the locations they discover in Google Earth by means of “Im Feeling Lucky.” My concern sheet can be discovered here as a Google Doc..
This brief video demonstrates how trainees can explore Google Earth in more detail after clicking “Im Feeling Lucky.”.
