If You Care About Copyright, Stop Using Blog Lovin’

As long time followers of my blog and Twitter account know, copyright is a topic that I am passionate about. Thats largely due to the amount of sites that steal my work on a day-to-day basis. A few of them, like the popular Bloglovin service, claim that theyre not doing anything incorrect and are in fact assisting blog writers get more exposure. Both of those claims are incorrect..

Bloglovin isnt assisting blog writers at all. By republishing entire posts without approval theyre breaching the initial authors copyright. Furthermore, by republishing whole short articles they are getting rid of any incentive to go to the actual source of the article which negates Bloglovins claim that theyre helping bloggers get more direct exposure..
Google agrees with me on this as evidenced by the truth that whenever I file a DMCA takedown notice with Google they eliminate the angering Bloglovin URL from their index..
I made a short, ranting video about this Bloglovin problem. If you like, you can see it here. In any case, stop using Bloglovin to read article and instead utilize a service like Feedly which does things right or just visit your favorite blog sites straight..
