How to Track Updates to Students’ Google Sites

Google Sites can be an excellent platform for students to use to maintain digital portfolios. In fact, I did that last year with my computer system science principles students. The challenge for a teacher when trainees use Google Sites for portfolios is keeping track of updates to those portfolios..

The method that I created to keep track of updates that trainees made to their Google Sites was to produce a weekly upgrade project in Google Classroom. Then weekly students added a new page to their websites. They then needed to respond to the assignment with a link to the brand-new pages they made in their Google Sites..
In this brief video I show how to keep track of updates to trainees Google Sites by utilizing Google Classroom assignments. The video reveals an instructors viewpoint and it reveals a trainees point of view of this approach..
