Vernier Software Application & & Technology is now accepting applications for the 2021 Vernier Engineering Award. The yearly award, with rewards valued at $5,500, acknowledges one intermediate school, high school, or college educator from any STEM discipline for innovatively using Vernier products to teach engineering concepts or practices to students.

Applications for the Vernier Engineering Award are due by February 15, 2021, and the winner will be revealed on the Vernier website and Vernier social networks channels in March 2021. To get in, educators must finish an online application and produce a brief video that quickly explains how they are using Vernier items and what engineering ideas or practices are being taught utilizing them.

.

Applications will be judged by a panel of Vernier experts based on development, the engineering concepts being taught, and the ease by which other educators can utilize the project in their classrooms. The winner will get $1,000 in money, $3,000 in Vernier items, and $1,500 towards expenses to go to an upcoming National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) STEM conference or an approaching American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) conference.

” We are devoted to supporting teachers in every method possible as they work to establish the next generation of scientists and engineers,” stated John Wheeler, CEO of Vernier Software & & Technology.” The Vernier Engineering Award is one method to acknowledge educators for their innovative use of data-collection technology– whether it is being utilized in the class or from another location– as well as share their finest practices with others.”
