A Fun and Educational Use of Chrome’s Inspect Tool

In this weeks.
Practical Ed Tech Newsletter I shared some of my favorite “techy” techniques to impress your students and coworkers. Among those tricks is to use the inspect tool in Chrome to view the code behind any website and then customize it to change what appears on the page on your computer system..

The inspect tool in Chrome lets you see the code behind any web page and change that code to display anything that you desire in place of the original text and images. See this short video to see how it works.

Applications for Education.
Chromes check tool supplies a great way for trainees to see how the code of a website works. I frequently had my ninth grade coding students do that last year.

You can also use the examine tool to alter a short article online to make it a satire story. Print the page and offer it to your trainees to attempt to identify the satire components of the story.
