5 ways a more equitable school-home communication system helped our district

Throughout a current Parent University session, for example, we assisted moms and dads load the ParentSquare-powered Aeries Communications module on their computers and mobile phones. One of our IT specialists reviewed and validated the variety of users on the system while the district started sending more signals, posts, and accessories. We likewise connected to households who we might tell werent receiving the messages and fixed all of their email addresses and took other steps to make sure everyone was utilizing the communications platform.

The pandemic has required districts to reconsider how they interact with moms and dads, and things arent going to go back to the “way they were” anytime quickly (if at all). Required to run remotely, and without much warning, our district knew it needed to move far from snail mail as a main mode of school-home interaction and over to a more contemporary, quick, and efficient option.

With Aeries as our trainee information system (SIS) and ParentSquare tightly incorporated into it, thats exactly what we did.

Luckily, we currently had a safe and protected platform for school-home interaction in location before the pandemic; it was simply a matter of ramping up our use of the technology, getting instructors and parents trained on how to regularly use it, and then putting it into action.

Given that making those moves, weve delighted in 5 fringe benefits, consisting of:

1. Fulfilling stakeholders where they are. When and how they want to receive routine school communications, we empower our families by motivating them to select. Guardians and moms and dads can individualize their notice settings to get all messages in one batch early each night.
