Videos in your YouTube account that were submitted prior to January 1, 2017 and were marked as “unlisted” will be changed to “private” on July 23rd. You can revert them back to “unlisted” after the 23rd. Check out more about this change here. This update does not impact videos published after January 1, 2017.

This week Google revealed a bunch of updates that will be coming soon to Google Office for Education products. If you missed them, as I did earlier this week, heres a short summary of the essential updates to keep in mind.

Twenty new font choices are being included to Google Forms..

New seeing choices will let you manage how much of a discussion you see compared to how much space is set aside for seeing your students cams or profile icons..

Trainees who are on the Google Classroom lineup will automatically be admitted however will be put in a waiting space up until the teacher is prepared to admit them..

Lineup import by means of Clever. This will let IT administrators produce classes based upon class rosters as written in Clever. (While fantastic in theory, I wonder if this will impact how much control instructors overcome their own Google Classroom rosters. I d hate to see this develop into a situation where a teacher has to submit an IT help ticket whenever a trainee requires to be included or eliminated from a Google Classroom. That might be a nightmare throughout add/drop periods)..

Class add-ons. This will let IT administrators add third-party services into Google Classroom. Some of Googles preferred vendors for this include Adobe, Kahoot, and Nearpod. Students will utilize those tools within Google Classroom..

Trainee activity view. This will let you see when a trainee was last active in your Google Classroom. Activity can include commenting and accessing assignments on posts.

The settings menu is going to be revamped to “simplify” the application of settings. (Im not sure what there is to streamline in Google Forms settings, its pretty basic now)..

Hosts can turn off all cams at when with a “video lock” setting..

Ideally, we can all use Google Meet and Zoom a lot less next year. That said, Google is making some updates to Google Meet for those who are hosting virtual class conferences..
